Responsibilities:

(A) Research and Documentation:

  • Develop/ utilize/ maintain templates for capturing all project activities.
  • Responsible for collecting data points, analyzing and generating various project report.
  • Documenting standard operating procedure, best practices, and field research findings.
  • Monitor data and generate reports at regular intervals.
  • Build organizational knowledge base through research and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for new research and data analysis base on organisation requirement.
  • Support in preparing concept notes, project closure reports and other projects related documents.
  • Developing research papers articles based on the research and data analysis.
  • Designing of research tools, conduct research and collect data from field
  • Other required documentations related duties, key responsibilities as per reporting manager.

(B) Operations:

  • He/she shall ensure implementation of defined project deliverables as per Project Academic Calendar.

Project Summary:

SHIKSHA Initiative – an ICT based program of Shiv Nadar Foundation is functional in nearly 1700 schools of Sitapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Sonbhadra, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Kasganj, Chandauli, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Mau, Chitrakoot, Bahraich, Fatehpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Aligarh, Bareilly and Etah districts of Uttar Pradesh. The program is enhancing quality of education, enriching the teaching-learning process and nurturing lifelong learners.

Shiv Nadar Foundation (estd. 1994), has always striven to promote inclusive education and make high impact visible difference in the lives of the children. To address quality of education, foundation is reaching out to students at both the school and university level across rural and urban India. Considering the literacy percentage in India and education gap among urban and rural students, foundation decided to introduce a profound intervention – SHIKSHA Initiative. It was started in 2012 with the vision “Literacy for an inclusive and empowered society”, thereby working on improving the quality of education in Indian schools, by creating a model which is easily replicable, scalable and measurable. SHIKSHA Initiative program of Shiv Nadar Foundation has benefitted nearly 2,08,000 students of 2020 primary schools in 22 districts of U.P. and trained 4,100 teachers on using SHIKSHA Initiatives ICT based digital contents approved by SCERT (U.P.) to make classroom teaching-learning more effective and engaging. Currently, SHIKSHA Initiative leverage the foundation’s expertise in transformational education and its technology prowess to create an intervention based on ICT.

Position Summary:

He/she shall oversee all programs of SHIKSHA Initiative. Lead a team of individuals and act as field operations planner, strategy developer, resource manager. Provide support to all other functions/depts.

Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Managing resources of project expansion and ensure program objectives are aligned to overall organization strategy
  • Responsible for planning and designing the plan for People, Processes and Priorities of the programs to maximize the impact
  • Ensure all programs have clearly defined monitoring and evaluation frameworks and the SOPs are followed at all levels.
  • Overseeing the quality of implementation and delivery of Program on the ground
  • Analyzing and comprehending the data so as to take appropriate corrective actions
  • Designing presentations on the basis of available data and presenting the same
  • Preparing budget and project planning for execution of various interventions
  • Review the program reports and communications

 

Partnerships

  • Identify, assess and collaborate with organizations/dept. to expand the program.
  • Liaising and collaborating with the various government departments to seek approvals and also to increase the reach of the program

 

 People Management

  • To establish and maintain cooperating working relationships with the team members and implementation partners
  • Responsible for collective decision making
  • Taking up and leading organization initiatives whenever required
  • Communications & Liaising Support
  • Regular co-ordination with all the depts. and other stakeholders associated with the program

Knowledge, Skills and experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters’ degree with at least 8 – 10 years of experience in the role of assistant /deputy/associate manager. Candidates with MBA/MSW and experience in working on development projects are preferred
  • Strong interest in the domain of Education, preferably in implementation of ICT based programs
  • Strong written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and provide program-related guidance to program team and leadership
  • Project management skills with an ability to work with the team in a challenging and fast paced environment, and manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
  • Travel: 10 -15 days in a month in and around project locations.
  • Languages: English and Hindi (read/write/speak)

Various interventions in this direction are being carried out including ICT content based on the current UPSERT curriculum and tactfully making it more inclusive and interesting for the students.

Responsibilities:

(A) Research and Documentation:

  • Develop/ utilize/ maintain templates for capturing all project activities.
  • Responsible for collecting data points, analyzing and generating various project report.
  • Documenting standard operating procedure, best practices, and field research findings.
  • Monitor data and generate reports at regular intervals.
  • Build organizational knowledge base through research and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for new research and data analysis base on organisation requirement.
  • Support in preparing concept notes, project closure reports and other projects related documents.
  • Developing research papers articles based on the research and data analysis.
  • Designing of research tools, conduct research and collect data from field
  • Other required documentations related duties, key responsibilities as per reporting manager.

 

(B) Operations:

  • He/she shall ensure implementation of defined project deliverables as per Project Academic Calendar.
  • He/she shall ensure all project related tasks and activities are planned and executed in a timely and effective manner.
  • He/she shall act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all project related communications/ directives/instructions/requests between the organisation and the different stakeholders. He/she shall also ensure smooth communication exchange between the two parties.
  • He/she shall also explore partnerships with other non-government entities working in the similar domain that can contribute in any possible way for the project.
  • Ensure Mentoring and Monitoring visits to project area schools as per requirement defined visits.
  • To facilitate and organise meetings between the organisation and Government officials as and when required.
  • He/she shall ensure weekly/monthly/quarterly project reviews with the relevant Government departments and stakeholders (DM/CDO/BSA etc.)
  • In addition to the above points, he/she shall be liable to take additional responsibilities as and when entrusted upon from time to time.
  • Planning for training and various project related activities.

(C) Finance:

  • Keeping track of all budgeting activities.
  • Coordination with SNF finance- SNF accounting team.
  • Keeping track of finances of SHIKSHA Initiative.

(D) IT:

  • Keeping track of IT equipment health and their optimum usage.
  • Coordination with SNF and SHIKSHA IT team for various project requirements.
  • Keeping record of all the assets serial number and other details.

(E) Audit:

  • He/she will be responsible to conduct project wide audit at Dadri and Sitapur location.
  • He/she will be responsible to conduct IT assets verification and coordination with asset verification team.

 

(F) Procurement:

Coordination with SNF procurement team for various project related requirements.

Qualification:

  • Should possess Post graduation degree in development studies/social work/mass communication.
  • Candidate with prior experience working in research domain will be preferred.
  • Familiarity and expertise on different data analytical tools like (Microsoft suit, SPSS etc.)

 

Desired skill sets:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the content team and other stakeholders within the organization.
  • Provide eLearning market research on the latest tools and developments.
  • Designing questions, adaptive assessments and personalized lesson plans.
  • Creates new resources and interactivity suitable for the K12 level.
  • Review and edit manuscripts, storyboards, audio, and video scripts.
  • Formulating a cross-platform content strategy.

Deputy Academic Lead

This is key position in the elementary program of SHIKSHA Initiative. Candidate should able to conceptualise, create and deliver the program with changes in vision, policy and priorities.

 

Key responsibilities:

  1. Need assessment: based on change in situation propose and conduct need assessment for new intervention as per the approval of leadership. Conduct stakeholder meetings/FDGs and compile comprehensive requirement for the leadership perusals.
  2. Planning:  Conduct preplanning deliberation for finalising the agenda or areas for the discussion during annual planning workshop. Based on agenda and leadership directives propose alternates for the upcoming academic sessions.  Develop executable plan for the rollout of activities and align all teams accordingly.
  3. Training and Development: align academic rollout with Training Manager/department. Facilitate in developing the capacity of team member according to diverse profile and roles across the organisation working directly with delivery and mentoring.
    • Training and Development – based on TNI development of training, responsible for effectiveness of training, grooming ToT and team
    • Training development and evaluation [capacity development] – identifying the academic points for training for SHIKSHA Team
  4. Content development:
    • ICT development for students and teachers based on curriculum and pedagogies for effective learning outcomes.
    • understanding of ICT features/ areas for intervention (LMS, templates, app)
    • Content development – Communication and clarity with ID. Expectation management with ID and grooming if needed.
    • Content testing and quality – Understanding of Content Testing and understanding of progress in QC

  1. Assessment and survey development: Need gathering for various academic related survey and develop tools as per the guidelines. Beside survey, develop diverse assessment tools for strengthening teaching – learning process. Equip teachers to assess students for effectiveness/learning outcomes.
    • Assessment and other survey tool development, training and supervising team for delivering/execution of the tools.
    • Develop tools and techniques for ease of teachers and students. Also, conduct training for field team to effectively observe/monitor assessments at schools which will help in TNI for Teachers and students.
  2. Innovations and continuous improvement: based on learning/demand from field look for solutions takes program to next level. Keep presenting /proposing areas for improvement along with solutions- content, content delivery, supervision, student and teacher experience. Pilot the approved solution or prototypes, for scaling.

R&D and innovation to develop enhancers for the delivery of education in the related scenario.

  1. Coordination and team development: this role requires close working with other departments/functions. Timely information and material sharing required regular meetings and briefings.

 

  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain meeting records for all key development related task, Monitoring and evaluation including reporting [ for academic related tasks]
    • Documentation of pilots, field study/observation and training reports along with review and sharing
