Project Summary:
SHIKSHA Initiative – an ICT based program of Shiv Nadar Foundation is functional in nearly 1700 schools of Sitapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Sonbhadra, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Kasganj, Chandauli, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Mau, Chitrakoot, Bahraich, Fatehpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Aligarh, Bareilly and Etah districts of Uttar Pradesh. The program is enhancing quality of education, enriching the teaching-learning process and nurturing lifelong learners.
Shiv Nadar Foundation (estd. 1994), has always striven to promote inclusive education and make high impact visible difference in the lives of the children. To address quality of education, foundation is reaching out to students at both the school and university level across rural and urban India. Considering the literacy percentage in India and education gap among urban and rural students, foundation decided to introduce a profound intervention – SHIKSHA Initiative. It was started in 2012 with the vision “Literacy for an inclusive and empowered society”, thereby working on improving the quality of education in Indian schools, by creating a model which is easily replicable, scalable and measurable. SHIKSHA Initiative program of Shiv Nadar Foundation has benefitted nearly 2,08,000 students of 2020 primary schools in 22 districts of U.P. and trained 4,100 teachers on using SHIKSHA Initiatives ICT based digital contents approved by SCERT (U.P.) to make classroom teaching-learning more effective and engaging. Currently, SHIKSHA Initiative leverage the foundation’s expertise in transformational education and its technology prowess to create an intervention based on ICT.

Position Summary:
He/she shall oversee all programs of SHIKSHA Initiative. Lead a team of individuals and act as field operations planner, strategy developer, resource manager. Provide support to all other functions/depts.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Managing resources of project expansion and ensure program objectives are aligned to overall organization strategy
- Responsible for planning and designing the plan for People, Processes and Priorities of the programs to maximize the impact
- Ensure all programs have clearly defined monitoring and evaluation frameworks and the SOPs are followed at all levels.
- Overseeing the quality of implementation and delivery of Program on the ground
- Analyzing and comprehending the data so as to take appropriate corrective actions
- Designing presentations on the basis of available data and presenting the same
- Preparing budget and project planning for execution of various interventions
- Review the program reports and communications
Partnerships
- Identify, assess and collaborate with organizations/dept. to expand the program.
- Liaising and collaborating with the various government departments to seek approvals and also to increase the reach of the program
People Management
- To establish and maintain cooperating working relationships with the team members and implementation partners
- Responsible for collective decision making
- Taking up and leading organization initiatives whenever required
- Communications & Liaising Support
- Regular co-ordination with all the depts. and other stakeholders associated with the program
- Conduct regular team reviews
- Managing conflicts among the teams and take appropriate measures
Knowledge, Skills and experience:
- Bachelors/Masters’ degree with at least 8 – 10 years of experience in the role of assistant /deputy/associate manager. Candidates with MBA/MSW and experience in working on development projects are preferred
- Strong interest in the domain of Education, preferably in implementation of ICT based programs
- Strong written and Verbal Communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and provide program-related guidance to program team and leadership
- Project management skills with an ability to work with the team in a challenging and fast paced environment, and manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
- Travel: 10 -15 days in a month in and around project locations.
- Languages: English and Hindi (read/write/speak)
