Group Manager – Data Management and Analytics
The Group Manager will lead data management and analytics efforts, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and insightful analysis to support the Shiksha Initiative’s mission. This role involves strategic planning, infrastructure management, team leadership, and stakeholder collaboration, driving data-driven decision making across the organization.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Data Strategy and Governance
- Develop and implement data strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish data governance frameworks ensuring quality, security, and compliance.
2. Data Infrastructure Management
- Oversee design, development, and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and integration.
3. Data Analytics and Reporting
- Lead the analytics team in developing data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to support decision-making.
- Explore new perspectives of data to better understand and optimize operations.
4. Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor data analysts, engineers, and scientists.
- Foster a data-driven culture and continuous learning environment.
- Lead team management and provide guidance to improve overall team performance.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with business units to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
6. Data Security and Compliance
- Implement and monitor data security measures.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
7. Performance Monitoring and Optimization
- Track and optimize data management systems and analytics processes.
8. Vendor and Tool Management
- Evaluate and manage relationships with data technology vendors.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data management and analytics, with a track record of leading teams.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of data governance, data architecture, and advanced analytics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong presentation-making and data representation skills.
- Experience with data security and compliance standards.
- Experience working in the social sector or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives is preferred.
